Curses for those who disobey God
There are several curses that are mentioned in Deuteronomy. These curses are for those who disobey God and do not keep His commandments. The curses include things such as being put to death, being destroyed, and being sent into captivity.
Disobedience leads to exile
The Lord said to Moses, “Tell the Israelites that if they disobey me and do not keep all my commands, but break them instead, I will punishment them. I will do this by sending wild animals to kill them, making them childless, sickening them with disease, or sending them into exile, far from their homeland. But even if they suffer all these punishments, I will not stop being angry with them. No, I will still be angry with them and punish them again and again. I will punish them seven times more for their sins.
“So you must obey the Lord your God and keep his rules and regulations. You must be careful to follow all his commands that I am giving you today.
Curses for those who serve other gods
The Lord said to Moses, “Tell the Israelites: ‘You are about to cross the Jordan to enter and occupy the land the Lord your God is giving you. When you have occupied it and are living in it, be sure that you do not make any of the abhorrent statues of the nations that are there. Do not set up for yourselves an Asherah pole beside an altar of the Lord your God that you build for yourselves. And do not put a carved stone in front of your house on which to bow down, for I have singled you out of all the nations of the earth to be my people. Consequently, you must keep all my statutes and ordinances and obey them, so that things will go well with you wherever you live.
“‘However, if you or your children turn away from me and fail to observe all my commandments and statutes I have set before you and go off to serve other gods and worship them, then I will uproot Israel from this land that I have given them. I will reject this people who have disobeyed me, just as I rejected their ancestors. So beware! The time is coming when they will not be able to live in this land, for I will scatter them among the nations and disperse them through foreign countries.
“‘And even if they are captive in a foreign land far away from their homeland, I will not forget my covenant promise to them nor cancel it—for I am the Lord their God. But I will remember with favor those who acknowledge me by obeying my commandments though they were led into captivity. So don’t be afraid because of them; for I am going to punish those who live in wickedness while they are still in their own countries; and after they have been led away among foreigners too, only then will they realize how much evil they did when they sinned against me by serving other gods!
“‘But now return to me wholeheartedly with all your heart and soul while keeping my statutes and ordinances. Do everything written in this book of Instruction wholeheartedly§0 And don’t let yourselves be discouraged by these difficult times! For these same difficulties test everyone under heaven.$0 If anyone falls behind in these difficult times, he should catch up by reading aloud from this book of Instruction day and night; he should read it so he can learn from it how $0to fear @the Lord his God by obeying all his commandments written here.$0 If everyone does that$, everyone under heaven who is capable$+of learning$2$1will soon know enough about how $0to fear @the Lord his God.$1′
Curses for those who mistreat others
There are several curses laid out in Deuteronomy for those mistreat others. These include physical ailments, economic ruin, and social ostracism. The purpose of these curses is to discourage mistreatment and promote harmonious relationships.

The LORD Nature made us all, rich and poor alike. He gave us our very lives. So how can we despise one another?
