The meaning of Isaiah 11:9
The meaning of Isaiah 11:9 is that the Messiah (Jesus Christ) will rule with justice and righteousness. He will be a righteous and just ruler who will bring peace to the earth.
What the Bible says about the peaceable kingdom
“The wolf also shall dwelling with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them. And the cow and the bear shall feed; their young ones shall lie down together: and the lion shall eat straw like the ox.”
This passage from Isaiah 11:9 is often called “the peaceable kingdom.” In it, God speaks of a time when animals will no longer be enemies, but will instead live together in harmony.
This passage is a prophecy of the Messianic age, when Christ will reign on earth for a thousand years (see Revelation 20:1-6). At that time, there will be perfect peace between people and animals. It will be a time of great joy and blessing.
What Isaiah 11:9 means for Christians today
Isaiah 11:9 is a prophecy about the Messiah, Jesus Christ. In this verse, Isaiah foretells that the Messiah will be a descendent of Jesse, the father of King David. This verse also tells us that the Messiah will have the Spirit of God within Him.
Christians believe that Jesus is the fulfillment of this prophecy. When Jesus was born, His parents were descendants of Jesse and King David. And, as the Bible tells us, Jesus was filled with the Holy Spirit from birth (Luke 1:15).
How to apply Isaiah 11:9 in your life
The world can be a scary place. There’s so much violence, hatred, and looting going on. It’s easy to feel like we’re powerless to do anything about it. But the Bible tells us that God is still in control. In Isaiah 11:9, we read:
” They will neither harm nor destroy on all my holy mountain, for the earth will be full of the knowledge of the LORD as the waters cover the sea.”
This verse is a reminder that we can have hope in God. No matter how bad things seem, He is still in control. And one day, He will make everything right. In the meantime, we can apply this verse to our lives by trusting God and His perfect plan for the world.
