What We Do
Bethel Church is a house of prayer for all nations and operates under the spiritual covering of Bethel Church in Redding, CA. We are a non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization. Our mission is to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ and to equip believers for spiritual maturity and ministry.
Worship is at the heart of our church. It is how we respond to God’s great love for us. Through worship, we offer our praise, thanksgiving, and adoration to God. We also come to know God more deeply and to experience his presence in our lives.
In worship, we celebrate God’s grace through the story of Jesus Christ. We proclaim the good news of God’s love in Christ and give thanks for all that God has done for us. We also respond to God’s call to grow in love and service. Worship is a time when we are transformed by the Holy Spirit and renewed in our commitment to follow Christ.
All are welcome in our worship services, whether you are a long-time Christian or just beginning your journey with Christ. We hope that you will find worship to be a place where you can feel at home and be renewed in body, mind, and spirit.
Bethel Church is a community of believers whose mission is to “Equip the saints for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ” (Ephesians 4:12). We believe in the power of prayer and that it is an essential part of the life of a follower of Jesus Christ. We also believe in praying for those who are not yet followers of Christ, that they would come to know Him.
The word “discipleship” is used a great deal in the New Testament. It is used of Christ’s relationship to his followers (Matthew 28:18-20; Luke 14:26-27), and it is used of the relationship of believers to one another (Acts 11:26; Romans 16:1; 1 Corinthians 12:28; 2 Timothy 2:2). Discipleship, then, involves both an individual and a corporate dimension. Christ has called us to follow him, and he has also called us to live in community with one another, helping one another grow in our faith.
At its heart, discipleship is about imitate Christ and become more like him. It is about learning to think like he thinks, feel like he feels, and act like he acts. Discipleship is not about striving to earn God’s love or approval; it is about responding to his love and grace by living our lives for him.
At its best, discipleship is a lifelong process that should be constantly ongoing. We never outgrow our need for discipleship, and we should never stop working to help others grow in their faith as well. As we follow Christ together, we can encourage and challenge one another to become more like him every day.
We are a family of believers whose mission is to reach out to the lost and hurting in our community and beyond with the message of God’s love and forgiveness. We believe that God is calling us to be a light in the darkness, and we are committed to sharing the hope that we have found in Christ with those who are lost and searching.
We believe that everyone is created in the image of God, and that every life is valuable and worth saving. We are committed to standing up for the unborn, the outcast, the widow, the orphan, and anyone who is oppressed or marginalized. We believe that God has called us to be a voice for those who cannot speak for themselves, and we will continue to fight for justice and equality for all people.
We are also committed to reaching out to those who are far from God with the love of Christ. We believe that everyone deserves a chance to hear about the hope and healing that is available through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, and we will never tire of sharing this good news with anyone who will listen.
At Bethel, we want to see you get involved in every area of church life! We believe that God has given each of us gifts and talents that we are to use to serve Him and others. No matter what your age, background, or interest, there is a place for you to serve at Bethel.
Join a Small Group
A small group is a great way to get connected at church. We have a variety of groups that meet throughout the week. Some meet in homes while others meet at the church. Most groups are made up of 10-12 people and meet once a week for about 2 hours. We have groups for men, women, couples, singles, young adults, and seniors. No matter where you are in life, we have a group for you!
Serve on a Team
There are many ways to get involved with the Special Olympics. You can coach a team, volunteer at an event, become a member of our Board of Directors, or make a financial contribution. But one of the most rewarding ways to get involved is to serve on a Special Olympics team.
As a team member, you’ll have the opportunity to train and compete with other athletes in your sport and division. You’ll also develop strong friendships and build lasting memories. Serving on a Special Olympics team is a great way to stay active, have fun, and make a difference in the lives of others.
One way to get involved is to give back to the community. There are many ways to do this, and you can choose what works best for you. You can volunteer your time, donate money, or donate goods. You can also advocate for causes you care about.
